Maxine's Auction Treasure!
Suffern Rotary Club celebrates Valentine's Day with their annual "Re-Gifting Auction" at Character restaurant where members are amused & entertained while raising funds for our projects. Traditionally, Maxine planned the event and this year she passed the torch to Judy & Madelaine.
Each year a new array of nearly new items or un-used items are donated by our members. The items displayed before dinner and then auctioned off after dinner. Some of the featured items were paintings, candlelabras, purses, a ukulele, Moscow Mule mugs, travel bags, etc. Fresh baked loaves of challah, tickets to a Boulders game & a private guided hike were some experiential items. Once in a while there is a "Re-Auctioned" item that makes a second appearance at the auction. This year it was Rotary specialty Brock Gin which was the most expensive item auctioned off last year!
Featured auctioneer is member Jim & his partner Sue who have perfected their skills over the years lead with good humor. Club member Donna jumped in to help with the auctioneering & used her quick wit to keep the pace of the auctioneering.
Thanks to our members donations & participation, this year's auction netted $1,225!
