Peace Pole:
Dr. Gunderson, superintendent of the Suffern district is in favor of installation of the Peace Pole at SHS and the next step is to present the project to the Board of Education for approval. Amy M. met with ENL teacher Ms. Balbuena and the predominant languages in the community chosen for the pole are: English, Spanish, Urdu, Haitian-Creole, Russian, Mandarin, French and Polish. We will suggest for it be placed in front of the school near the amphitheater on an elevated platform. The Rotary Club will plan a dedication ceremony once the pole has been installed.
Annual Valentine's Day Regift Auction:
Current date is Thursday February 24th.
Maxine has volunteered to chair this event again. She would like someone with technology experience to assist her with organizing the event.
Jim O. will be the MC for the auction.
Evelyn O. has offered her home for the auction for those comfortable attending in-person. A Zoom option will be available. If you attend, bring your auction items with you. If you are not attending the event in person, please send photos of your items/services up for auction to Maxine.
Snack Attack Packaging:
Elizabeth S. has sent out the sign up sheet for packaging 80-85 meals of snack foods for the Weekend Snack Attack bins. This is done at the All Souls Church on Washington Street once a week. It takes about an hour for two people to complete at a time convenient for the partners before delivery to the elementary schools on Thursday. The openings start the week of March 23rd through June 15th.

Suffern Village Fundraiser for Fire Victims:
The fire damaged businesses in the building and has negatively impacted the business owners as well as their employees. The membership has agreed to present $1,000 to the Suffern Chamber of Commerce to be donated to the funds raised for the victims of the fire.
Recently the village posted a change of date for fundraising fair at the Ball Field to February 5th.
Jamfest:
Please contact Jim Osborne or John S. if you would like to help with the event. A site for the event and a plan needs to be finalized. Today there were suggestions to look into using the Parking Lot near the Crowne Plaza, the Spook Rock Pool or RCC for the event. If anyone has information or a lead for a suitable
The Rotary Foundation
Liz Stevens has volunteered to step into Larry's role as the Foundation Chair. Larry will mentor her in this position as it involves fundraising and completion of grants.
Super Bowl Pool:
Super Bowl is soon upon us! Time to buy those boxes! Contact John Shepitka ( cell: 1(845)494-8440 or email jrstudio@optonline.net) with regard to buying boxes for $25 each. Please encourage other members of your family, your friends and neighbors to participate in the fun so our members are not forced to buy all of the boxes. This helps to raise funds as well as promote our club.

They both have been approved by the executive board. If anyone from the membership has and issue, please reach out to Angus.
2. Installation of Buddy Benches at each Suffern School District elementary school. The purpose of the bench is to spread the message of kindness, compassion, and empathy across our playgrounds! The village may be some extra benches that could be donated to the schools.
